Posy was always a “drama queen”, pursuing every dramatic opportunity
available at school.
As she says, “It’s in the blood!” Her mother, a top model in the sixties,
and father, an executive music producer, have never hidden the dark side of the industry from
her so she’s always asked why she wanted to become an actress in an industry that she’s grown
up in and seen how difficult it really can be. Her answer is simple: "The passion inside.
It’s hard to describe, but it’s like this
big ball, which fills you with an almighty buzz and excitement when performing and
truly makes me happy. It’s my passion!"
She recalls one of her early memories, "one of the best times
was playing Queen Elizabeth 1,(The Player Queen). I’ll never forget the power
I felt in that part and how I really connected to the part of Queen Elizabeth and how she really was."
Since then Posy has always had a keen interest in that period and
would definitely love to play her again. "I always ending up playing a lot of men parts too, was someone
trying to tell me something?!"
Posy was awarded a number of Drama prizes and she was asked to represent
the school in a performance at the Globe stage at the tender age of 15, with London
luminaries Mark Rylance and Jane Horrocks.
Posy went straight to Drama School in Oxford after school, where
she trained for three years. "It was a rollercoaster ride but definitely worth it.
I learnt so much. But it’s been more of a rollercoaster
ride since I finished drama school!"
"Nothing prepares you for the reality of the industry,
when you get out. It is hard but if you work hard and persevere then you’ll get there in the end!"
Posy went straight into doing voice work in the animation project, Ultra Guardians
and performed in several plays. She continues to work in all fields, her voice work with the BBC
and voice automation (yes that’s her voice, when you ring the bank for the balance!) and
touring and starring in a number of films.
So as you can tell Posy really does have it in the blood and will
continue to stay in this industry as long as she lives!
